WHY Scolio-Pilates®
strata • layers formed over time • your body learns through them
Everyone experiences scoliosis differently.
For some, it's something they think about every day. For others, it's a diagnosis they haven't revisited in years. Some people know their Cobb angle by heart. Others haven't had an X-ray since they were teenagers. Some have been braced while some have undergone spinal fusion surgery. Others have adapted so well that they hardly think about their scoliosis at all.
And yet, whether scoliosis is something you actively manage or something you've tucked away, your body has still been learning from it.
Over time, we develop habits, preferences, and movement patterns that help us navigate the world. The body finds ways to create stability, support, and a sense of familiarity.
Scolio-Pilates® combines movement, breath, and awareness to help us better understand the patterns scoliosis creates over time.
More importantly, it's an opportunity to listen to those patterns more closely.
Who Can Benefit from Scolio-Pilates®?
Scolio-Pilates® can be beneficial for:
Adults living with scoliosis
Newly diagnosed individuals
Teens navigating scoliosis-related changes
Individuals who have worn a brace
Individuals who have undergone spinal fusion
People experiencing postural fatigue, stiffness, or discomfort
Anyone interested in understanding how scoliosis influences the way they move
When we better understand our patterns, we gain the ability to work with them rather than against them.
Scolio-Pilates® has given me a greater sense of support, more awareness, more space, and a deeper connection to the body that carries me through life every day.
It's a practice I continue returning to and one I'm grateful to share with others!
